The process of growing and giving birth to a child is one of the most profound life events we will ever experience. It is a huge accomplishment and family adjustment, and everyone giving birth deserves the best possible care and support.

My mission at Generations Midwifery is to serve those who have decided that giving birth at home is the best option for them and their family, to facilitate a healthy pregnancy through watchfulness and support, to assist in the safe birth of the child at home, and to guide postpartum recovery and adjustment in a way that honors the family’s unique background and needs.

I would love to walk with you through your pregnancy journey. If you are considering individualized care with a midwife please contact me for a free consultation.

As a Midwife, I Do Not:

Make Decisions for my Clients

As a midwife I support my clients and their families in informed decision-making. I provide access to the best available evidence, open space for discussion, and make recommendations based on clinical experience. With this in mind, each care-related decision will ultimately be made by the person receiving care (or the parent of the newborn receiving care).

Make Medical Diagnoses:

As a Certified Professional Midwife I am qualified to support normal pregnancy and birth, manage discomforts of pregnancy, and identify abnormal signs and symptoms in the mother or the newborn. Complications that are outside my scope of practice will be referred to a physician for diagnosis and treatment.

Prescribe Pharmaceuticals:

I provide counseling concerning herbal supplements, vitamins and over-the-counter medications. Clients taking medications that require a prescription must continue seeing their prescribing physician, as well as the midwife. With the exception of emergency medications at the time of birth, new medications needed in pregnancy will require a physician visit.
